With the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) and in partnership with the Office of Innovation and Technology of Uzbekistan, Startup Campus has launched programs on innovation and business development. The top priority of one pilot program by a university and another one by a large enterprise is – besides knowledge transfer – to assist the participating enterprises to enter the foreign markets, as well as to develop the business ties between the two countries. The Demo Day of the First Hungary–Uzbekistan Startup Accelerator Program, held in the Saloon of the Gerbeaud Coffeehouse in Budapest, was attended by Géza Gonda. The project director of the Representation Office of the Organization of Turkic States made greeting remarks and also took part in the work of the jury.
In connection with the Hungarian–Uzbek Startup Research and Development Program, launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the organizers have advertised two separate programs: the University Startup Accelerator Program (USAP) expects the innovative ideas that offer responses to the global challenges in the field of energetics, agriculture and health care. The programs to be implemented greatly rely on the earlier domestic and international experiences of the business development services of Startup Campus. The implementation of the future innovation services and trainings is supported by the Hungarian–Uzbek Startup and Research and Development Program. The startup enterprises and innovative SMEs to be selected will be able to conduct their business development operations – focusing on the Central Asian region – on the premises of the INNO Technopark Uzbekistan in Tashkent that was inaugurated a short time ago.
The guests of the Demo Day of the First Hungarian–Uzbek Startup Accelerator Program, held in the Saloon of the Gerbeaud Coffeehouse in Budapest on June 13, 2023, were greeted by Zoltán Galla. The program director of the Startup Campus Incubator Private Limited Company explained that on that day the four best Uzbek startups will present themselves, the ones that had been selected out of the 130 applicants, taking part in the program. It was Gonda Géza, the project director of the Representation Office of the OTS who was delegated – upon the request of the organizers – to deliver the opening presentation of the above event. He briefed the guests on the history, the structure and the work of the OTS and the Representation Office. He also took part in the work of the jury which evaluated and awarded the points to the Uzbek startups on the basis of the given aspects of uniqueness, impact on the market, professional background and financing.
