On 28 November 2022, Mr. Emin Huseynov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the Karabakh Economic Region, held meeting with a group of Hungarian businessmen within the framework of his visit to Hungary. The meeting was organized in cooperation with the Representation Office of the Organization of Turkic States in Hungary and Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA).
In his opening address, Mr. Emin Huseynov underlined Hungary’s firm stance throughout the span of decades-long occupation and the honorable “44-Day War”/ 2nd Karabakh War that paved the way the liberation of Azerbaijan’s territories. The Special Representative noted that a comprehensive urban planning and modern infrastructure will be needed in Karabakh due to severe damage and destruction caused as a result of occupation.
Mr. Huseynov also noted that the Hungarian companies would play an invaluable role within the framework of the recovery and reconstruction process of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, particularly in vital areas that require expertise, such as demining, water systems, green solutions and construction. The Special Representative briefed the participants on the set of key targets to be achieved within the framework of the reconstruction of Karabakh.
During the meeting, the sides also held a “B2B” networking session for prospective projects and future cooperation.
