The Representation Office of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held a briefing for the students of universities and colleges in Budapest in the Ybl Villa. The guests were welcomed by Dávid Biró, the project coordinator of the Office who offered them a summary of the activities of the OTS and the Representation Office.
Since its opening, the Representation Office of the OTS has played a significant role in promoting the cooperation between the OTS and the EU. Dávid Biró also added that since 2019 the Office has been a kind of coordinator between the Headquarters of the OTS in Istanbul, Hungary and the EU. As he pointed out, several thousand students from the Turkic world study in universities in Hungary. For this reason, the Representation Office plays an active role in the cooperation with the institutions of higher education, in meetings with the students, as well as organizing programs.
As a result, three years ago the Turkic Youth Cub was established. In the framework of the Club, the Turkic students studying in Hungary can meet one another and the young Hungarian people who are interested in them. The Club is a place where they can share their culture and present their national values.
During the above event the Turkic diplomats working at the Representation Office also took the floor. They briefed the participants on the history, economy and culture of their respective countries. The event was concluded by informal discussions.
