During his visit to Kyrgyzstan, the Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó presented a mobile water treatment unit to be used at a mobile hospital of the Central Asian country’s army.
“The whole world is now focused on controlling the coronavirus pandemic, but at the same time we must not forget other threats that have arisen before and remain here: terrorism, spread of extremist ideologies and various armed conflicts” the Minister said at the ceremony. Hungary and the EU have directly faced the consequences of these security threats over the last six years. Indeed, mass migration flows have been launched, posing a serious security and cultural risk to Europe.
“Today, Afghanistan is one of the world’s leading sources of security threats. We highly appreciate Central Asian countries’ role in maintaining peace, stability and security in the region” stressed Peter Szijjártó.
“We appreciate Kyrgyzstan’s role in peacekeeping and maintaining stability here in the region and beyond. We know very well that the soldiers wounded in such missions should be treated away from the military bases. We also know that clean water is essential to operate a mobile hospital. Mobile hospitals are worthless if the water supply isn’t solved. Therefore, Hungary’s aim with the donation was to contribute to Kyrgyzstan’s peacekeeping success” he said. The water treatment unit presented to use in army’s mobile hospital is produced using internationally recognized Hungarian technology, he added.
