The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Budapest hosted an official presentation of an art album “Reading Abay” published by TURKSOY. Dusen Kasseinov, Secretary General of the International Turkish Cultural Organization (TURKSOY) attended the event.
Ibrahim Abay Kunanbayev – a Kazakh poet, folk singer, philosopher and translator – is known as the creator of modern Kazakh literature and literary language. His remembered as a hero who awakened the Kazakh national consciousness in Kazakhstan. On the occasion of the Year of Abay Kunanbayev, declared in 2020, TURKSOY published an art album containing works of many artists from the Turkic World. Presenting the album the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Hungary H.E. Janibek Abdrashov presented a letter in which President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasım Jomart Tokayev praised the importance of the publication.
At the event Dusen Kasseinov handed out a commemorative Medal of Abay to the Director of the Representation Office of the Turkic Council in Hungary Dr. Janos Hovari, the Director of the Abay Center in Hungary Mrs. Onaisha Mandoky, the Senior Researcher of the Institute of Ethnography of the Academy of Sciences of Hungary Dr. David Somfai Kara and to Mrs. Raushangul Mukusheva, teacher of Kazakh language at the University of Szeged.
