H.E. Kubanychbek Omuraliev, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), is to pay an official visit to Hungary. He was elected the head of the Secretariat of the OTS by the Council of the Heads of State during its session in Samarkand last November. After taking office, the new Secretary General has been paying visits to all the member and observer states of the OTS. After being inaugurated, it is his first visit to Hungary. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will receive the Secretary General in his office. Kubanychbek Omuraliev will also have a meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó.
As the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Kubanychbek Omuraliev had been serving in Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Turkey and Israel. He had also been the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). He had also had several senior positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other state or public service organizations. During his career, Ambassador Omuraliev has made a great contribution to the process of the social and intellectual development of his country. Among others, he was the Vice Chairman of the Association of the Business Circles of Kyrgyzstan, as well as the national coordinator of the Advisory Committee of the Anti Corruption Network (ACN) of the emerging economies of the OECD.
When he was inaugurated, the new Secretary General – with his 25 years of diplomatic experience – made a promise to continue to lead the OTS towards innovation so that the member and observer states could make further progress to reach the common goals laid down in “Turkic World Vision 2040.”
During his visit to Hungary, Kubanychbek Omuraliev will meet in the Ybl villa the Ambassadors of the OTS countries accredited to Budapest, as well as the Executive Head of the Representation Office (RO) of the Organization, Ambassador János Hóvári, and also the project managers of the RO.
Sándor Lezsák, the Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament, the Head of the Friends of Central Asia, will receive Kubanychbek Omuraliev in Lakitelek (Bács-Kiskun County).
