The Representation Office of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Budapest held the closing event of the Turkic Youth Club in the Ybl Villa. This time a Kyrgyz film with the title “Kurmanjan Datka – The Queen of the Mountains” was screened. The guests were welcomed by Talaibek Kydyrov, the acting Director of the Office who expressed his satisfaction that the Turkic Youth Club in Budapest organizes more and more events.
The closing event this year of the Turkic Youth Club in Budapest – organized by the Representation Office of the OTS – was held in the Ybl Villa on November 30, 2023. The guests were primarily students from the Turkic states, studying in various colleges and universities in Hungary. In his opening remarks, Talaibek Kydyrov recalled that the establishment of the Club had been initiated by Ambassador János Hóvári, the late Director General of the Representation Office. His objective had been to create a platform where the Turkic students studying here could meet regularly, get acquainted with one another, as well as with the young people from Hungary who are interested in them. This is a platform where they can share their culture and present their national values.
There are several thousand young people studying in Hungary. For this reason, the Representation Office plays an active role in organizing their meetings. As a result, a real Turkic youth community may evolve in Hungary in the future. “I believe that this initiative, as well as the screening today, offers an excellent opportunity for the young people to come closer to one another,” stated Talaibek Kydyrov.
During the evening it was recalled that this year we have already had a sporting event, a musical ensemble has been created that has already played with great success in several venues. Next year the Teqball championship is planned to be organized, as well as a Turkic chess competition. Besides these, conferences, workshops and forums will also be held for the young people, and the Turkic Youth Ensemble will also be presenting its ambitious program several times.
The youth evening held in the Ybl Villa on November 30, 2023 was continued with the screening of a film, presenting the history of Kyrgyzstan in the 19th century, and was closed with an informal conversation afterwards.
