“The Turkic World on the Silk Road”

On November 11, 2024, at the initiative of the Representation Office of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the Photo Exhibition “The Turkic World on the Silk Road” was opened in the Emre Yunus Institute of Turkish Culture (1062 Budapest Andrássy út 62.).  The exhibition that presents the history of Turkic civilizations on the Silk Road and their heritage through photographs, can be visited till November 21. In his opening remarks, Dr. István Vásáry, the Executive Head of the Representation Office of the Organization of Turkic States stressed the commitment of the OTS to popularizing Turkish culture. He also highlighted the significant role of the Turkic states in the history of the Silk Road which was a network that not only facilitated trade but promoted the vigorous exchange of ideas, beliefs and cultural practices as well. Ambassador Vásáry expressed – at the same time – his thanks to the Turkish Academy and all the organizers for their efforts to bring the exhibition to life. The event was attended by the members of the diplomatic corps, the outstanding representatives of the cultural and scientific life. This reflects the strong interest in the Turkic heritage in Hungary.
