János Hóvári Paid a Visit to Kazakistan

On April 14–15 Ambassador János Hóvári, the executive head of the Representation Office of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) participated in the 6th general meeting of the organization of the national academies of sciences of the Turkic world in Almaty.

One of the objectives of the visit by Ambassador Hóvári was to prepare the membership of Hungary in this organization. Accompanied by the senior consul of the Hungarian Consulate General in Almaty, he paid his respects at the tomb of the linguist and Turkologist István Mándoky Kongur in Kensai cemetery. After this, he held talks with the Director General of the Central University in Almaty.

Rasida Haripova said that in the near future she is planning to visit Budapest and take part in the session aimed at rearranging the organization of the directors general of the national museums of the Turkic states which works in the framework of TÜRKSOY.

In her future remarks, Director General Haripova will be talking about the memories of shamanism in Kazakistan, as well as the survival of the traditions and rites of shamanism.

On the margins of the above deliberations, Rasida Haripova will presumably meet László L. Simon, the Director General of the Hungarian National Museum. The two directors general will be discussing the opportunities for their future cooperation in the field of joint exhibitions and other fields, like excavations.
